BOILERS GIVE TROUBLE ONE MESSAGE REASSURING [Per Prei3 Association.] WELLINGTON, Dec. 28. The secretary to the Post and Telegraph Department received the following wireless message at 3.2 p.m. from the s.s. Cararitr, latitude 40.115, longititude 149.16 E: “Sent alarm signal and advised boiler mishap and requested ships in vicinity to stand by as boilers burst; Talune hastening to assistance and expects to arrive 9 p.m. ” The Talune advised Hobart that nothing had been heard of the Cararita since 3.21 p.m., New Zealand time. The following advice has been received from the Awarua radio station in reference to the Cararita mishap, and follows that from the Talune to Hobart: “Just passed the Cararita and 0.K.”
