WEATHER FORECAST
General situation.—The anticyclone which recently lias been centred to the north has extended southward and, to-day, it has been covering the whole of the Dominion. The depression over Tasman Sea has decreased in extent, but in still of cyclone force between Norfolk Island and the Queensland coast. Forecast. —Winds: Variable, but mainly northerlies at first, moderate generally but freshening and 'changing south to southerlies south from Cook Strait. Seas (N.Z. waters): Bather rough about Cook and Foveaux Straits, otherwise smooth to moderate. Tasman Sea: Moderate to strong north-east winds in the eastern Tasman Sea, rising Io south-oasterlies in the southern portion. Seas moderate, but rising in the northern portion. Weather: Still for the most part fair to fine, but showers developing in northern and southern extremities of the’Dominion and clouds increasing generally. Temperatures warm but becoming cooler shortly in the South Island.
