NORTH ISLAND MEETING CHAMPIONSHIP TO W. McBAIN THE FINAL RESULTS Fine weather prevailed for the final day’s shooting of the North Island Championship on the Putiki range on Saturday. The association’s championship Beit and Clapham Silver Cup Challenge Cup and gold medal presented by Major Lomax were won by DeputyPresident W. Mcßain, of the Old Navals Club, Wellington. Rifleman E. M. Wrigley (Opaki) was second and took the “Chronicle” gold medal. De-puty-President E. J. Reston (Akarana) won the Herald’s medal for third position. The Putiki aggregate was won by Rifleman J. Bouzaid, Grey town. He lifted the Colonial Ammunition Co’s silver challenge cup and gold medal presented by Mr A- R. Sommerville. Rifleman Bouzaid also won the tyro championship, winning the Phillips’ Silver Challenge Cup and medal presented by Mr F. J. Soler. Wanganui A team won the teams match. The prizes were presented by the Hon. W. A. Veitch, who congratulated the winners and mentioned how well the meeting had beer supported- He referred to the illness of Colonel Hughes and Major Lomax and trusted they would soon be restored to their normal health.
