BAN ON IMMIGRANTS
AN ITALIAN APPEAL. SYDNEY, Dee. 10. The Consul-General for Italy, Signor Grossardi, interviewed the Minister ot Home Affairs (Mr Blakeley) at Can terra on the subject of Italian immigra tion. Neither would make a statement concerning the matters discussed. It is understood that Signor Grossardi appealed for the men on th" Otranto to be allowed to land. A Perth message states that the Otranto has arrived with a large batch of aliens, 101 of whom are Italian--. Thev are prevented from landing and will" be returned to their home country as soon as possible.
