Wanganui visitors to the Chateau during the week-end included Mr and Mrs G. H. White and Mr W. Morrison.

Mr and Mrs Percy Greenwood, of Ngakawau, West Coast, are the guests of Mr and Mrs R. Greenwood, Harrison Street. They leave for Auckland today. Mrs T. W. Blennerhassett, of Wanganui, is the guest of Mr and Mrs W. A. Lyon, of Woodville. Mrs Shewin, of College Street, has returned from a visit to Napier. Mrs Dobbic, of Dunedin, is visiting Wanganui and is the guest of her mother, Mrs Jack, Pitt Street.

Miss M. Currie was hostess at an enjoyable bridge evening on Monday, at her home in Wicksteed Street to entertain Miss Wall, who is shortly to be married, and Miss Mason, who left yesterday for a holiday in England. The players were Mrs S. Storey, Miss Wall, Miss Mason, Mrs S. Storey, Miss K. Lewis, Miss M. Blyth, Miss H. Franklyn, Miss J. Izard, Miss B. Ziesler, M. Currie; Messrs Harrison, Haggett, A. Wilson, H. Blyth, Carver, Newton, Storey B. Earle, Pitts-Brown and G. Saunders.

On the eve of their departure from Wanganui to take up residence in Palmerston North, Mr and Mrs A. Lane were the recipients of a handsome rose bowl presented by the members of St. John’s Tennis Club, of which Mr Lane is a life member and Mrs Lane a vicepresident. Mr Lampe, president, made the presentation and referred to Mr Lane as being one of the original founders of the club. Miss Myers Messrs Marshall, Hounsell and Brighton also spoke of Mr and Mr.s Lane’s good qualities on and off the court. The meeting finished with Auld Lang Syne.
