THE BRITISH COAL DISPUTE POSITION REMAINS CRITICAL [By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright.] Received Dec. 4, 10.10 p.m. LONDON, Dec. 4. Mr MacDonald’s conference with the miners lasted two hours, after -which Mr Graham and Mr Shinwell conferred for a further two hours. The Ministers uged the necessity of giving the Act time to succeed. Delegates came away perplexed and were merely able to report Air MacDonald’s opinion to the miners, but it is not expected that they will be able to overcome the opposition to the spreadover. The position remains critical and a national ballot on the strike is now regarded as a strong probability.
