TO-MORROW’S ENGAGEMENT Members of tho Wanganui We 4 Bowling Club arc requested to be at the Wanganui Club’s green by 2 p.m. tomorrow to compete in the Senior and Willis Shield play. During the week-end the Aggregate competition will bo continued.
| courses should not be allowed to opea on Sunday afternoons. He moved that Sunday play be approved between the hours of 2 p.m. ami 6 p.m., but that no charge for the use of the courses be permitted. Tho opinion that this was a matter that concerned only those who were running midget links, arid their patrons, was expressed by the Mayor, Mr J. W. Williamson. It was definite, however, that section 309 of the Municipal Corporations Act, gave the council jurisdiction over the courses, although they were within the boundaries of private property. Mr Guiniven’s motion was carried by 5 votes to 4.
