WANGANUI SALE
Freeman R. Jackson and Co. report as follows on the Wanganui sale held yesterday: The entry in all sections was only a medium one and we had a good clearance at prices firm on recent sales, with the exception of fat sheep, which declined in price on last week’s rates. This wo fully expected, since the export prices arc now announced. To-day’s prices- for fat stock, although lower than what vendors have been receiving, were still above exporters’ limits. The cattle market was a little brighter, and we had a good clearance with better competition than of late. Sheep.—Fat woolly ewes 9s 7d to 11s sd, fat shorn ewes 9s 3d to 10s Bs, fat two-tooths 14s to 14s 6d, two-tooth wethers 14s 6d, forward 4 and 6-tooth wethers 14s 4d, store ewes 6s 7d.
