UNEMPLOYMENT BOARD
THAT AUCKLAND NOMINATION
EXPLANATION ACCEPTED
[Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Nov. 20.
The little unpleasantness which has been agitating the members of the Auckland Waterside Workers’ Union over the nomination of Air Oscar Mcßrinc, a member of the Union, for a seat on the Unemployment Board, has apparently been brought to a satisfactory end.
Officials of the Union refuse to make any statement as to the outcome of meetings- held this week to hear Mr Meßrienta explanation why he allowed himself to be nominated contrary to the wishes of the Union, but it can now he stated, fairly definitely, that an explanation has been accepted and that it will not be necessary for him to resign from the Union. It had been stated in earlier reports of meetings that Mr Mcßrine was president of the Union, but officials explain that, although he occupied that position previously, he has not hold office for gome time.
