GAOL FOR A MONTH

URGING POLICE TO MUTINY FORMER SECRETARY’S ACT [By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright.] Received Nov. 20, 8.56 p.m. MELBOURNE, Nov. 20. Victoria Price, former secretary of the Police Association, was sentenced to one month’s imprisonment for having incited members of the Victorian Police Force to commit a breach of discipline.

The prosecution alleged that Price sent out a circular counselling disobedience of the Police Commissioner’s orders. The Commissioner recently disbanded the Police Association.

The Magistrate described Price’s offence as grave and calculated to bring about a mutinous condition in the police force. Price gave notice of appeal.
