MARTON ROSE SHOW

FUNCTION OPENED YESTERDAY THE AWARDS The annual rose and flower show and industrial exhibition (under the auspices of the Methodist Church) was opened in the Civic Theatre yesterday afternoon.

The show of blooms although not quite so numerous as on previous occa sions formed a very attractive display and were greatly admired, the wet weather no doubt accounting for the falling off.

The show was officially opened by Air E. Newman, C.M.G., who sym| us-

ed with the show authorities on i,. adverse weather conditions which had affected the number of exhibits.
