General situation.—The depression referred t o yesterday is now mov ing on tu New Zealand. Pressure is rising again in eastern Aus 1 ralia.
Forecast —Winds: Northerly and strong to gale force backing to west and south west in ll4| morning in far southern districts and this change extending northwards during the folk wing 21 hours. Seas (N.Z. waters): Rough on the west coast and about Cook and Foveaux Straits, elsewhere moderate. Tasman Sea; Strong northerly winds to gales backing gradually to south-west in the eastern Tasman; seas rough. Weather: Unsettled and squally with rain developing in western districts and gradually becoming general. Temperatures mild.
