A BUMPY JOURNEY
OSCAR GARDEN AT SYDNEY. Kcceived Now 13, 11.20 p.m. SYDNEY, Nov. 13. The airman, Oscar Garden, arrived at Mascot this afternoon from Alelbourne, after a very bumpy passage. Stopping at Canberra en route, the airman had a narrow escape from injury. His ’plane was coming to a standstill after landing, when a heavy gust of wind struck it at an angle. The machine tipped over on a wing, balanced for a few seconds, and then fell back on its wheels undamaged. During the journey Garden sometimes fell or shot upwards hundreds of feet due to air pockets.
