Tho homicidcd-minded population is growing in numbers and becoming increasingly quick on the trigger, while pistoleers of both sexes are shooting straighter than ever before. A glance through the crime records of the 30 days since Jack Diamond was shot shows that 91 were shot in New York, of whom 42 already are buried, and this takes no account of tho suburban area. The city’s record for last year was 357. So far this year the figures exceed these by 50 per cent.

The New York Evening Telegram is dohanding that the authorities take immediate action.
