BATCHELOR GIRLS.
Miss Joan Tris Howard, the only woman Agent-Genera] in London, has adopted a novel method of interesting British girls in opportunities afforded by the portion of the Empire which she represents—Nova Scotia. Herself a “bachelor girl,’’ Miss Howard is to attend the Bachelor Girls’ Exhibition to be held at the new Horticultural Hall, Westminster, in order to explain the great variety of openings to be found in the Province, particularly for women. She hopes to fouiql in Nova Scotia a colony of bachelor girls, and if a sufficient number is enrolled at the exhibition Miss Howard will herself take them out and sec that they are well priced in work. Miss Howard was appointed AgentGeneral in succession t< her father, Mr John Howard, who died last year, and whom she assisted as confidential secretary for many years. She is a Londoner by birth.
