Miss G. Thomas, of Makirikiri, has been spending a few days with Miss M. Hagley, Rapanui. Miss Nora Elliot, of Kai Iw[ is the guest of Mrs W. Hall, Campbell Street. Mrs McDonnell and Mrs Coombe, were Sanson visitors to Wanganui for the A. and P. Show.

Lady Norah Jellicoe will arrive in New Zealand next month and will stay with Mrs A. P. White in Hawke’s Bay for a time.

Mrs G. F. Holloway, of Wellington, the well-known musician, formerly of the Regent Theatre Orchestra, Wanganui, is spending a few days in Wanganui as the guest of Airs Mitchell, Hals-well Street.

Mrs E. M. Silk, of College Street, is visiting Auckland. Mrs Andrews, Wellington, is the guest of Air and Airs E. W. Andrews, Brunswick.

Miss H. Ramsay, Dannevirke, is a visitor to Wanganui. Miss F. Hunger has returned to St. John’s Hill from a holiday in Wellington, where she was the guest of Mrs W. Gibson.

The teaching of folk dancing to the young men prisoners of Bedford Gaol, England, was recently sanctioned by the Home Secretary. The lessons are given by the Hon. Phyllis Russell, whose mother, Lady Amphill, is chairman of the local Discharged Prisoners’ Aid Society.

The youngest woman to gain an auctioneer’s certificate is Aliss Muriel Frances Davies, an English girl. An Australian firm made an offer to Miss Davies for her services, but she preferred to continue working for her auctioneer father in her own country.
