“Fair Game” Racegoers arc apparently fair game for all people who have wares to sell on a racecourse and they stand the extra charges put on them with great equanimity. However, it is time clubs looked into the matter and saw that contractors for certain privileges do not exploit. the public too far, says the Auckland Star.' At Whangarei patrons of the inside enclosure were charged elevenpence for a packet of cigarettes. On many courses the price Is raised a penny per packet but to levy twopence above what any tobacconist would sell them at. was going too far, and there were not a few complaints about the charge.
