OBITUARY
PROFESSOR R. J. SCOTT [ Per Press Association. T CHRISTCHURCH, Nov. 9. The death occurred in a private hospital yesterday of Mr Robert Julian Scott, emerittes, professor of engineering at Canterbury College. Professor Scott was head of Canterbury College School of Engineering from its foundation in 1889, until his retirement in 1923, and before he became a professor he held provincial administrative positions in the New Zealand railways. The funeral leaves Canterbury College on Tuesday morning. DR. J. D. LANGLEY Received Nov. 9, 7.30 p.m. MELBOURNE, Nov. 9. The death has occurred of Doctor John D. Langley, former Bishop of Bendigo, aetat 95. MR R. L. OUTHWAITE Received Nov. 9, 7.30 p.m. LONDON, Nov. 8. The death has occurred of Mr Outhwaite ex-Commoner, aetat 61. Mr Outhwalte’s son, Cedric, won the distinguished service cross at Zeebrugge. GENERAL T. H. BUSS. Received No. 10, 1.16 a.m. WASHINGTON, Nov. 9. General Tasker H. Bliss, aged 76, wartime Chief-of-Staff, died on Sunday.
