SCHOONER WRECKED
CREW ALL DROWNED. Received Nov. 9, 11.5 pm. VANCOUVER, Nov. 8. The schooner Brooklyn, outw T ard bound and timber-laden, struck a notorious bar and reef off Eureka, California, and was overwhelmed and lost with the whole of her crew of 19. The vessel attempted to steam out of Hambolt Harbour in a gale late on Saturday. She w’as bowled over and sunk by two mountainous waves which struck her simultaneously when she was at the entrance to the harbour. The vessel sank in five minutes.
