WEATHER FORECAST
General situation.—The depression has passed rapidly to the eastwards and yesterday a fresh series of depressions of the westerly type advanced across the southern Tasman sea. Forecast. —Winds; Mainly west to north-west, but backing in places temporarily to south-west; modern te for the most part:, but strong at times in exposed positions. Seas (N.Z. waters): Rather rough south of Cape Egmont and about Foveau x Strait, elsewhere smooth to moderate. Tasman Sea: North-west to west winds in the eastern Tasman, moderate in the northern portion with smooth to moderate seas and strong in the central and southern portions with rather rough seas. Weather: Cloudy and unsettled in districts with a westerly aspect, with tom rain for the mos t part. Fair in eastern districts, •but with some scattered showers. Temperature: Mild.
