RUMANIAN ARMY

DEFENSIVE PLAN STOLEN LONDON, Sept- 23The Daily Express correspondent at Bucharest says the Government and military circles are excited over the disappearance of a copy of the Rumanian army defensive plan in case of war between Russia and Hungary. The theft occurred three years ago, but was only discovered when a Soviet newspaper began to deride secret details of Rumania’s strategical scheme. As an outcome the closest investigation was ordered by King Carol, and General Mirescu, one of the country’s most brilliant leaders who had thc custody of the plan but did not disclose the theft, was dismissed. The General is now stated to be critically ill from the shook. He is not expected to recover.
