BRITISH AIR FORCE
BLUES VERSUS REDS VALUABLE INFORMATION LONDON, Aug. 17. The British air exdVcises ended in the mimic Powers agreeing to accept the mediation of the League of Nations. The pace set by both sides was evidently too hot for a long campaign. Detailed results of the fighting are not yet available, but apparently the Blue colony achieved its aim of reducing the Red colony to chaos, but at a| tremendous cost to its own forces. The exercises vividly illustrated t|ic destructive nature of modern warfare. During the three days’ fighting three important towns and a larger seaport were rendered untenable and others were much damaged, but 150 ’planes were lost in the process. If the war had continued the Blue colony might not have been able to make good its success. Tho manoeuvres clearly show that an enemy working at a reasonable short range cannot be kept out of neighbouring territory or prevented from doing serious damage.
