RAILWAY LOSSES
THE POSITION AT HOME. FIVE MILLIONS LESS REVENUE. LONDON, Aug. 14. The News Chronicle says that the railways are facing a serious position. This year’s receipts have fallen off by £5,000,000. Companies arc considering drastic economics and may seek a reduction of wages. Dismissals’ total 2,500 more than expected.
