SEAFIELD CLUB VISIT TO NEW PLYMOUTH. WELL-CONTESTED GAMES. I Per Press Association. I NEW PLYMOUTH, Aug. 17. Despite a very doubtful-looking morning tho weather conditions were good for the annual match between the New Plymouth and Sca~cld Clubs here during tho week-end. Though the locals won rather easily most of the games were very well contested. A feature of tho days was the defeat, both in the morning and the afternoon of a strong New Plymouth pair, Con way and Mac Kay, at the hand® of Goss and Moulder. At tho conclusion of the day Mr Ellery Gilbert, on behalf of tho visitors, thanked the New Plymouth Club for tho most enoyablo day they had spent and he also congratulated them on tho fine new course that they had laid out. Mr Quilliam replied on behalf of the local club. Tho following are the results, Seafield players being mentioned first:— Mo-ming. J. Goss junr. and Moulder defeated Conway and Mackay, 4 and 3. Gilbert and Irwin lost to Boon and Johns. R. Goss and Mackay lost to Hine and W. C. Weston, 4 and 3. Brown and Goldsbury all square with Burgess i.nd Quilliam. McArtney and McKeruan lost to T. G. Thomson and Street. Jones and Pritchard defeated Haughton and Pavit, 2 and 1. Hean and Smart lost to Kirby and Wynward, 2 and 1. Robertson and Elliott lost to F. U. Johns and T. A. Thomson, 4 and 3. Whelan and Sutcliffe lost to Broome and Akers, 3 and 2. Stewart and Hurley lost to Lightbrand and Humphries, 2 and 1. Waring and Young lost to Dalgleish and Morgan, 7 and 6.
