MOTH ’PLANE DAMAGED ; P«r Press Association. 1 NEW PLYMOUTH, July 10. Extensive damage was done to a privately-owned Moth aeroplane when landing at Bell Block aerodrome shortly after midday. The ’plitte belonged to Mr Oldham, of Hamilton, and was piloted by Dlr E. Luks, who was flying so**,. He left Hamilton at 11 o’clock and reached New Plymouth at 12.30. A gale of between 40 and 50 iles an hour was blowing, and when the ’plane was within about ten feet of the ground the wind caught it and turned it on its side.

The left underwing struck the ground and th. machine turned over and dug its nose into the ground. All of the wings were broken and the centre section of the ’plane was damaged. The tail was also damaged. The engine was not damaged. The pilot was not injured.
