PROTEST AGAINST REMARKS. [ Per Press Association.] AUCKLAND, June 24. Strong exception to the reported remarks of the Hon. H. Atmore at Nelson, when withdrawing from the P. and T. social gathering, were taken by Mr H. 11. Brown (general organiser of tho P. and T. Association). Mr Brown said that it was the rule at such junctions for an official to spend at least half an hdur in reply to the toast of 11/e Association. He was confident that had l\lr Atmore desired to reply at length permission would have, been readily given.
