The gathering dispersed with instructions to each member present that he should return to the next meeting armed with suggestions as to how Wanganui local government could be improved. It is understood that there was a unanimous vote in favour oi drastic changes being made in the personnel of the presot City Council. Pending a thorough silling of ideas, however, there has been no public announcement. It is intended to form a strong executive, propound plans for an election campaign and light the matter to the last ditch. From what can be gleaned, the appointment of a city manager has been talked of, and there is a probability of a well known city business man being asked to stand as Al ay or. Up to now, however, everything is shrouded in mystery, but something is expected to take shape next week.
