Athletic tried hard to get. away, but a free kick was again awarded to Patea, Petersen again putting the ball over the bar. Athletic attacked again and succeeded-in taking play to the twenty-five, and it looked as though they would score. Gudgeon and Meyrick nearly got through once, and again Dymond, Barker and Owen led a strong attack, but the blue backs stood strong. Bourke and Baldwin took play upfield, a free kick saving Athletic. Soon after, Gudgeon secured from a scrum, passed to Dymond, to Owen, who dashed over tho line. Tuki failed to convert. Until the finish of tho game.
