WAINUI-A-RUA UNION The up-river Rugby competitions were advanced a further stage on Saturday when Pamoana met Morikuu at Jerusalem, Pamoana winning by 22 to nil, while at Ranana Ohotu defeated Old Boys by 11 to nil. The game at Ranana was mostly a forward struggle, due to the greasy ground. Ohotu had the better of the game as the scores indicate, the Old Boys’ effective spoiling tactics preventing a bigger score. Tries for Ohotu were scored by Wakarau, Sparkes and Haami, Tamchana converting one. For Old Boys Toui played a good game with Nikau ohowing up in patches. Old Boys forwards were a very even lot, al] doing their fair share.
