THE WELLINGTON SALE The fortnightly sale of hides, skins and tallow was held at Wellington on Friday last. There was the usual attendance of buyers. Levin and Co. quote:— Hides: Heavies, mediums and lights on a par. Kip and yearling id to Id higher. Calf—poor selection, id to Id lower. Ox, 33 to 441bs, 5d to 6d; 45 to 521bs, 5d to sgd; 53 to 591bs, sid to 6i<l; 60 to 691bs, s|d to 6fd; 701bs and over, s?d tc B£d; cow. 33 to 391bs, 5d to 6d; 40 to 481bs, 4d to 6d; 49lbs and over, s|d to s|d; kip, 25 to 321bs, 4|d to 6|d 17 to 241bs, 6d to 9Jd; yearling, 11 to 161bs, 7id to B£d; calf, 9 to lOlbs, 6id; 6 to 81bs, IOAd to lid; 1 to 51bs, 8d to 10id. Dry sheepskins: Best in export condition, on a par. Damaged and inferior, to id lower.
