AT THE ELRICK
BEAUTIFUL GOWNS AT RACE BALL There were some exquisite gowns to be seen at the race-night ball held at the Elrick Cabaret last Saturday evening. Every table was occupied, and London, Sydney, Auckland, Wellington, Palmerston North and half a dozen North Island towns had contributed to the modes of the beautiful frocks worn by the dancers. Stone’s Orchestra again contributed excellent music, from the time-honoured and old-fash-ioned but well-toned waltz to the very latest and pepiest jazzy- Delicious supper was served at the cabaret tables and attractive lighting effects added to the charm of a scene worthy of such a special occasion as race-night and also the visit by a number of the English Rugby team to the cabaret.
