VALUELESS CHEQUES
ISSUER GIVES HIMSELF UP ( Per Press Association ) AUCKLAND, May 8. Alfred Randolph Barton, aged 27, surveyor, walked into tho detective Office on May 1 and informed the police that he had I cen issuing valueless cheques. Ho was charged to-day with issuing cheques valued at -56 10s. Ho was granted two years’ probation. Ho explained that he camo to Auckland to enter a position, but was disappointed and went on a drinking bout.
