The newspaper Literary Digest, in a poll of 4,150,017 votes on the prohibition law, a certaincd the following figures:— For enforcement 1,248,589 For modification 1,231,849 For repeal 1,669,579 North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Kansas and Arkansas, cast a majority for strict enforcement. Only New York, Connecticut and Rhode Island had a majority for repeal.
