FIRE AT HASTINGS
HOUSE BURNT TO GROUND [ Per Pres? Association J HASTINGS, May 8. A seven-roomed residence adjoining lona College, Havelock North, owned and occupied by Mr Selwyn Averill, was burnt to the ground at 9 o’clock last night. The Averills were absent, spending the evening with friends. Nothing was saved, the building being mass of flames before the fire was discovered by neighbours.
