ALLEGED THEFT
ACCUSED FOR TRIAL. Charged with the theft of £ll JO.s, the property of Leonard Charles D’Ath, farmer, of liapanui, Leonard Charles Trickett was yesterday committed to the Supreme Court for’ trial Trickett is a married labourer, 23 years of age, living at 212 Russell Street, .Sramoho. Air J. H. Salmon S.M. was on the Bench. - In the witness box. Lionel Charles D’Ath said that hi* was working out of sight of his house between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. on April 29. When he returned to the house he found a sum of moimy was mising from a suitcase. IL* had lelt the case locked and the Key was in a trousers’ pocket, but the case was open when h c returned, and the key back in the pocket. The money missed was made up as: Three five-pound notes, seven single-pound notes, and about £2 in silver Detective Revell said in the witness box that a a result of his investigations he interviewed accused. Accused made a statement in which he admitted taking £ll 10s. He was in need of money. A plea of not guilty was entered, accused being allowed bail.
