TELFAR—HARBROE The engagemen it announced of Alexander, third son of Mr and Mrs J. Telfar, Gonville, to Lorna Myrene, youngest daughter of Mrs and the late Mr George Harbroe, Wellington. • PATCHETT—HAIR The engagement is announced of Alison, third daughter of Mr and Mrs J. A. Hair, Wanganui, to C. Melton Patchett, Wanganui, eldest son of Mr and Mrs J. Langston Patchett, Manchester, England. MAHER—THOMPSON The engagement is announced of Margaret, fifth daughter of Mr and Mrs T. M. Thomson, senr., Waiuku, to Ralph, fourth son of Mr and Mrs J. Maher, Ohingaiti. WEDDING WAHLSTROM—EVANS A popular and unusually pretty wedding took place at All Saints’ Church, Wanganui East, on Wednesday evening, when Morva Myfamvy, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs E. J. Evans, was married to Eric William Wilson, eldest son of Captain and Mrs W. E. Wahlstrom, Hatrick Street. The church was decorated with rose coloured dahlias and greenery, and the ceremony was conducted by the Rev. Mr Weller. The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a dainty frock of spun silk lace over bluish pink silk, and an embroidered veil fell in graceful folds to form a train and was held in place by clusters of orange blossom. Silver shoes and stockings and a lovely shower bouquet of belladonna lilies and dahlias and chrysanthemums. The wedding ring was a family heirloom, almost 200 years old, and the veil was lent by Mrs Hear, of Lower Hutt, cousin of the bride. The bride was attended by Miss Mavis Mumford, wearing an anklelength frock of frilled net, and Miss Monica Murphy, who wore a rose pink ankle length frock of frilled het. The bridesmaids wore silver shoes and carried shower bouquets of lilies and chrysanthemums to tone with their frocks. Miss Ola Evans was a dainty flower girl in pale pink crepe de chine. The bridegroom was supported by Mr E. H. Campbell as best man and Mr Ivor Wahlstrom as groomsman. After the ceremony 120 guests were received by the wedding party and were afterwards entertained at a delightful wedding supper. The tables were gay with cosmos and zinnias. Mrs Evans was wearing a graceful frock of black crepe de chine and lace and black capon felt hat with coloured embroidered crown. The bridegroom’s mother wore a frock of navy georgette and lace, navy hat. The bride and bridegroom left later for Christchurch, where the honeymoon is to be spent, the bride wearing a smart model frock of beige crepe satin finished with taracul, small green hat to tone. The guests included Mrs F. Spooner (grandmother of the bride), wearing a black frock coat and hat; Mr and Mrs G. Spooner; Mrs Spooner (aunt of the bride), wore a royal blue satin frock; Mr and Mrs Murphy (Sandon), Mrs Murphy (aunt of the bride) chose a brown georgette and golden brown lace, fawn felt hat; Mr and Mrs G. Jensen (Marton); Mrs Jensen (aunt of the bride) wore grey crepe de chine, hat to tone; Mr and Mrs J. Jensen; Mrs Jensen (cousin of the bride) wore a frock of rose beige georgette and silver; Miss R. Wahlstrom (sister of the bridegroom), beige georgette and lace, sealskin coat, blue felt hat; Miss F Wahlstrom (sister of the bridegroom), rose pink velvet; Miss I. Wahlstrom (sister of the bridegroom), pink crepe de chine and lace.
