Dalrymple (chairman), A. Stuart, A. b. Coleman, W. Doole, R. G. Dalziell, J. Brice, L. Hammond, G. E.« Anderson and H. A. Belk. The matter was discussed in committee and the following resolutions carried:—■ “That the Rangitikei County Coun* cil agrees to contribute from its Genera! Account the sum of £350 per annum towards the payment of interest and the repayment of principal on a loan of £lO,OOO from the Alain High- 4 ways Board for a period of ten years » for the purpose of providing the Council's share of the cost of completing the reconstruction of the Auckland .to Wellington via .Taranaki Main Highway from Wangaehu to Bulls in the Otakapu and Rangitoto Ridings of tho County, five-sixths of such sum of £350 to be credited to the interest and re- • payment on that portion of the loan raised for the work in the Otakapu Riding, proportional part only of the £350 to be paid from the General Account until the whole sum of £lO,OOO is borrowed." ( * That application be made to the Alain Highways Board for a loan of £lO,OOO for a period of ten years for the purpose of reconstructing the Auckland-Wellington via Taranaki Alain Highway from Turakina to Bulls and surfacing such highway from Wangaehu to Bulls, the interest and repayment on such loan to be borne by the Rangitoto and Otakapu Ridings in proportion to the amounts of the loan raised for the work in the respective ridings, subject to contribution to be made from the General Account in terms of the previous resolution, but in the event of reconstruction of main, highways in the county being made a county charge, then any remaining payments of interest and repayment on such loan to be wholly borne by Genoral Account." ■! “That the engineer submit propos- " als t 0 the Alain Highways Board for the surfacing of the Auckland-Welling-ton via Taranaki Main Highway from tho Ben Nevis junction to the Wangaehu Bridge."
