SCHACHT'S RESIGNATION
LIQUIDATION AGREEMENT BERLIN, March 8. Herr Schacht’s resignation followed a heated discussion with his fellow-di-rectors, in whch he asserted the Young Plan was unbearable lor Germany. He voiced distrust of the Government’s financial policy. The news of the resignation followed like wildfire through the city. There was consternation on the Bourse and several important stocks fell 12 to 15 points. During the Reichstag debate on The Hague liquidation agreements, Herr Heinrich Schnee, of the People’s Party and ex-Governor of German East Africa said the agreements with Australia and New Zealand were most, unfavourable to Germany. They were robbery perpetrated by England in association with the IDominions. The procedure reminded him of a man who stole a purse and then said to his victim, “Let us now be friends.”
