HAWKE’S BAY TOURNEY CHAMPIONSHIP WINNERS. [ Per Press Association 1 DANNEVIRKE, Feb. 8. The Hawke's Bay lawn tennis championships tourney under the auspices of the Dannevirke Club concluded this evening. Tho winners were as follows: Ladies’ Singles.—Mrs Adams (Wellington) beat Miss Gibbons (Canterbury), fl—3, 7—9, 6—3. Ladies' Doubles.—Mrs Melody and Miss Howe (Wellington) defeated Misses Innes (Palmerston North) and Rutherford (Feilding), 6—3, 6—l. Men's Singles.—C. Malfroy (Wellington) defeated J. Lowry (Hastings) 6—B, 6—3, 6—3. Men’s Doubles.—Lowry (Hastings and Griffiths (Auckland) defeated Malfroy (Wellington) and Orbell (Christchurch), 6 —o, 6—2. Combined Doubles were not concluded. Boys’ Singles.—R. Carstens (Wellington) defeated J. Fitzjohn (Dannevirke) 6—4, 6—l. Girls' Singles.—Miss Ruby (Dannevirke) beat Miss G. Thompson (Dannevirke), 6 —3, 6—o. Quite Carried Away. “Good morning, Mrs Murphy,” said her friend, Mrs O’Reilly. “Ive bin wonderin' I ain’t seen yore ole mail lately 1 ?
