SHOOTING

DEFENCE RIFLE CLUB SATURDAY’S TEAMS MATCH. The Wanganui Defence Rifle Club held a teams match at the Aramoho range on Saturday. Although the rain held off the conditions were not good, particularly during the latter stages when a variable light and tricky wind were responsible for several wide shots. On many occasions these conditions would not be facing the marksmen if all members would endeavour to arrive within reasonable time and thereby avoid the delay in concluding the first range. The club has now reverted to the old rings on the targets and although it is unfortuna. * that a departure from the latest Bislcy dimensions has become necessary the reversion will bo received with general satisfaction. The excellence of the ammunition issued in England is producing such lino results that it has been necessary to reduce the size of the bull’s-eye, but unfortunately this quality of ammunition is very seldom issued here, consequently many clubs and associations are retaining the old dimensions on their targets. The following arc Saturday’s scores, Rifleman Hogg’s 98 indicates his usual good form. No. 2 Team.
