TUBERCULOSIS CURE”

WARNING BY PRACTITIONER PROPER TESTS ARE SUGGESTED (Spt.'lal to “Chronicle”) WELLINGTON, Dec. 6. A warning against placing premature faith in the claim that a cure for tuberculosis has been discovered is issued by a leading practitioner following the announcement that the Rev. Edward Ward, of Auckland, has discovered a curative medicine In addition, the Health Department states that many medicines at present in use can show a proportion of cures, but that no infallible remedy has been discovered. The Department considers that the Rev. Ward should disclose his cure to leading members of the medical profession in Auckland and also to the Auckland Hospital Board in order that proper tests can be made. In addition a letter from Dr. T. 11. A. Valintine, Director-General of Health, has been sent to the Rev. Mr Ward, urging this course. Before tests are made, it is pointed out, it is unscientific to debate the claims of Mr Ward. Sonic time over a year ago, Mr Ward communicated with the lion. J. A. Young, Minister of Health in the Coates Government, to the effect that he had discovered a herb with curative properties, but did not make any mention of the mineral salts, which arc also a portion of his prescription.
