FIRE IN WELLINGTON

PRIVATE HOTEL BURNED. [ Per Press Association ] WELLINGTON, Nov. 29. A fire broke out at Afahiwi Private Hotel, 67 Abel Smith Street, shortly after 3 p.m. to-day. The fire had a fairly strong hold when discovered and the firemen were faced with a difficult task on arrival. The flames spread so rapidly that an attempt to get in touch with a boarder on the first floor was out of the question and the man had to jump to the ground, a distance of about 25 feet. The man, whose name is not yet known, was removed to the Hospital. The building, which Is of 22 rooms, Whs very badly damaged. Tho proprietress is Mrs E. M. Pine.
