RANGIWAHIA SUNDAY SCHOOL CONCERT On Friday evening in the Public Hall, the children of the Methodist Sunday School, staged a delight I p little concert programme, followed by the play “Soot and the Fairies,” under the conductorship of Mrs G. Rose and Miss C. Martin. The effort was made in order to raise funds for the Methodist Missionary Society and

as a result the superintendent, will have quite a large sum to hand over. Mr W. Wilson was in the chair and the very pleasing items were rendered as follows: Piano solo, Gofton Mooss; action song, Heather Fankhauscr, recitation, Gwyefa Robinson; song, June Harris; recitation, Joy Rose; recitation by four boys, Bruce Harris, Wayne Rose, Arnold and Ken Robinson; rcci tation Juno Harris; song Dolly Fankhauscr; recitation, Gwen Moiss. recitation, Robert Hancock; recitation, Alice Rose, part, song, Gwen and Sefton Mooss; recitation, Joyce Boshier. recitation, Phyllis Cameron, song, Gwyll'a Robinson and chorus, recitation. Dolly Fankhauscr, recitation, Sidney Boucher.. After a short interval the play “Soot and the Fairies’’ followed the role of Queen being very well played by Alice Rose, while Sefton Mooss played Captain Soot, Alan Hancock

took Baron Hairbrushes’ part and 808 Hancock Wag’s. The doctor who prescribed for Soot and the Black Gang, was acted bv Phyllis Cameron. T»« various choruses were well sung and very much appreciated by the audience. Miss C. Martin was the accompanicst. GENERAL NEWS Dining the last week very cold nn< wet weather has been experienced Shearing operations having been at ® stand still for some time. Theresiilents of the district will regret to hear that Mr C. McKinnon hat been indisposed lately. One nnd all wil wish his a good recovery.
