NUKUMARU
CONCERT AND DANCE HELD A concert and dance was held in the Nukumaru Hall on Thursday evening, and was very much enjoyed by all those present. The hard-working social committee deserve congratulations for their efforts in arranging such a successful evening. The concert part of the programme was supplied by visiting artists from Wanganui, and every item was vociferously encored. The following ladies and gentlemen contributed to the programme. Mesdames Gibson, Syman, Misses N. Bateman, C. Robinson, Messrs F. Clarke, J. Newrick, Barnes, P. Swan and A. Newrick. At the dose of the concert the chairman, Mr E. Coles, tendered thanks to the artists for assisting and also thanked the audience for their attendance. The ladies supper committee (Mesdames Thorne, Symes and Forsyth) served a very fine supper which was greatly appreciated. Dancing was then indulged in and Mr. S. Wilson was a capable M.C. The dance terminated in the -wee sma’hours and everybody went home feeling well satisfied with the evening’s entertainment.
