TO DINE WITH GOVERNMENT An invitation has been issued by his Excellency the Governor-General (Sir Charles Fergusson) to the seven Victoria Cross holders resident in New Zealand to dine with him at Government House on Saturday, at the same time as the Prince of Wales’ dinner to Empire V.C.’s is being held in London. All expenses for th.? New Zealand function, including transport and accommodation will be borne by the Government. At the conclusion of the dinner, the guests arc to attend the annual reunion of the Wellington Regiment. New Zealand V.C.’s are:— Captain L. W. Andrew, V.C. Wellington. Lieutenant R. S. Judson, V.C., D.C.M., M.M., New Plymouth. Lieutenant S. Frickleton, V.C., Wellington. Lieutenant C. R. G. Bassett, V.C., Paeroa. Lieutenant J. G. Grant, V.C., Hawera. Sergeaflt H. J. Laurent, V.C., Ha wera. Private J. Crichton, V.C., Auckland.
