DUNEDIN, Nov. 7. “You have disclosed yourself to be devoid of all sense of honesty and to be a fraud no honest community could continue to tolerate,” said Judge Kennedy, when sentencing Kum Yoon Lee, also known as William Chan or Tong Sing Lee, on seven charges of dishonesty and six breaches of the Bankruptcy Act, to eighteen months’ imprisonment and six months’ reformative detention. Accused admitted previous convictions in the North Island. Francis Joseph Gantley, aged 27, a married man with one child, for carnal knowledge of a girl aged 15, was sentenced to eighteen months’ reformative detention.
