General situation—A moderate Cyclone crossed the South Island last night, but a secondary one is located west of Cape Egmont. Pressure is high over Eastern Australia. Forecast—Winds; Moderate to strong northerlies over the North Island. Elsewhere moderate to fresh southerlies, gradually becoming general and freshening about Cook Strait. Seas (New Zealand waters): Rough in Cook Strait and north of East Cape and rising south of Castle Point; smooth to moderate elsewhere Tasman SctT moderate to strong southerly winds, and moderate to rather rough seas in the Eastern Tasman. Weather still unsettled with showers in most districts, but improving from the west and south. Misty on the east coast, between Kaikoura and Napier .
