HOLDER RETZ.INS TITLE. (Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, Oct. 31. In the New Zealand amateur billiards championship to-night, A. Bowie (Auckland) the holder, beat H. Wakem (Federal Club) by 666 to 581. The winner was not quite up to his best form, having travelled from Auckland tho previous night. Wakem made quite a good contest and in the early stages shaped like a winner. Bowie’s winning hazards were a strong feature of his play. Best breaks were: Bowie, 37, 20, 37, 20, 24, 52, 23, 21, 42, 46, 31 and 80; Wakem, 20, 57, 23, 38, 20, 23, 21, 26 and 28.
