FAITH IN BOY
GIRL TELLS COURT MATRIMONIAL DRILL? A pretty, dark-eyed fiirj declared in tho Court at Sydney, before Mr Acting Justice Maxwwi, that she was not burdened with curiosity as to the whereabouts of her boy friend when he was away from her company, or what he had been doing. The witness had stated that she met her boy friend and some others, and, wh le waiting in the street, her com-
panion left them for a time. Mr Bowie Wilson, counsel in the case: Did you ask him where he had been?—No. Certainly not. But he might have been to see another girl?—That would not have mattered to me. You feel that you are quite able to hold your own?—Yes. You had not any curiosity?—No; certainly not. Perhaps you are drilling him with a view to matrimony —letting him go away for a long time, and not asking him where he had been? The girl smiled, Mr Bowie Wilson smiled, and the Judge smiled; but the question was not answered.
