GELIGNITE EXPLOSION

FIVE MEN INJURED (Per Press Association.) WAIROA, Sept. 30. Five public works men employed on the Lake Waikaremoana road works were warming gelignite in a tent on Saturday last when a premature explosion occurred. All were injured, three being taken to hospital: Richard Dalhousie, suffering extensive burns to a hand and a shattered arm, which was amputated. His condition is serious. George Leckie, left leg injured. Joseph Goldsmith, abrasions to the body and face. The other two were slightly hurt.
